Welcome To My Blog

Welcome to my home in cyberspace. I enjoy making handmade greeting cards these days. Being in the same boat as quite a number of other Americans, being laid off, I found a fun way to keep myself busy. Besides making just greeting cards, I discovered the art of quilling. It's a lovely art form, and I've applied it to more then just my greeting cards. I've created signs, gift boxes, earrings, necklaces, and a whole bunch of keepsake items. I sell a lot of what I make at Etsy. So, if you'd like a beautiful keepsake card or gift for a special someone, check out my Etsy site at RyansFineDesigns.etsy.com. My cards are of heirloom quality, and you may even like to frame them.

I'm also giving lessons. So, if you're around the Des Moines, Iowa area, sap me an e-mail, and I'll let you know all about it. Otherwise, take a look at some of my designs and just enjoy yourself while you're there. I am continually adding new cards and gift items. So you may like to come back at a later date if you don't see something you need today. Just bookmark my Etsy site. Thanks. Have a great day!

Some of my Quilled Greeting Cards & Keepsake Gifts

My Acrylic Paintings

It's pretty late. About 3a.m. But, I thought I would get this page posted with some of my artwork. I haven't introduced my acrylic paintings to the world yet. So, I thought now, at 3 o'clock in the morning, while I'm dead tired, would be a perfect time. Why not!

I'm including some of my acrylic paintings, 'Running Horse',  'Beached Boats', and 'One Eyed Lady' .  I've put two pictures up of One Eyed Lady'  because one has a lot of glare from the glass.

There's also 'Wine Time', 'Bowl of Fruit' and 'Iris Flower', all in one picture. I did a separate picture of them each, but they didn't come out very good. Too blurry for my liking. So, I posted this one until I can take some more pictures of them at a later date.

I also painted 'Michael Jackson' (yes, I did a tribute), which is a water color. It's not one of my favorites, but I thought you might enjoy it. The very last picture below is also Michael Jackson. Since this is actually a quilling site, I quilled him. He even has one white glove. He is not for sale. Just for you to view and enjoy.

These are all at an art gallery (except for the quilled Michael Jackson) in Newton, Iowa right now. But, anyone can inquire about them. They are all for sale. Enjoy! Comment on them if you'd like. I'd love to hear your opinions. If you're interested in purchasing them, feel free to e-mail me.

This is one of my favorites. I call it simply 'Running Horse'It is in an oval frame with no glass, about 11"x14", on canvas paper.

The ones below are also for sale, but I have to get better pictures. The pictures I took didn't come out very good. So, I will do that soon and update this page and these particular paintings when I do. Right now they are at an art store in the next town. So, I don't have convenient access to them.

'Wine Time', and the 'Bowl of Fruit' are 11x14's, and the 'Iris' is 8x10. All are painted on canvas board and in frames with glass.
Price: $50.00 ea. ~ contact: Marianne Ryan to purchase.
